Jon sighed from behind the concession stand inside of the movie theather. He was serving popcorn, kid packs, soda, pizza, pretzals, hotdogs. It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't happend to be christmas. Not like it mattered all that much anyways since he didn't have anyone to spend christmas with. But the mad rush of screaming kids, agitated parents and hysteria was getting him. Not to mention that the rest of the staff was pressed under these unusal circurmanstances as well. This holiday royally sucked beans. That much was obvisously certain. He pulled his phone from his pocket to check the time. At least his shift was nearly over. They would be locking the doors in just a few moments and he'de be on his way home to salave what was left of this christmas holiday. A cold apartment, some cheese crackers and a football game. That was his ideal christmas most years. And he happend to be a bit richer thanks to all the overpay.
His attention was drawn away from his phone as he quickly pocket. He was told that one of the gals was taking her break so he was going on the till. Nodding he moved over to the register and began to ring up the purchases. Not too many people left now. Everything was sort of dying away at this point. People going home. People in the movies. Even the staff was starting to leave, the crowds thining. He moved to ring out a soda when a voice told him to empty the drawer. He looked up wondering if someone was playing a joke on him. Seeing a strange man pointing a gun at him he flinched. "You've... got to be kidding me..." He let out. But at the serious expression he punched in a few digits and opened the register handing over all his money. He was expecting the guy to grab it and run but he was still standing there. "You're going too." He commented.
No way! That was sucide! They were trained to refuse. It was safer to refuse. "You got what you wanted... just go." He said uneasily the gun still pointed at him. It clicked and he began to sweat and swallow. "Now." Jon paled a bit before the bullet flew past his shoulder. Screams broke out. Jon through his hands over his head in response. "Are you crazy?!" He whimpered. Seeing the gun being cocked again he moved away from the register. "I'm going...." He said uneasily. He let the guy heard him out the direction he wanted. The managers had heard the shot and came to see what was happending. Seeing that they couldn't reach Jon without endangering him or someone else they stood back as he was shoved out the door The cops had already been called.
"Please..." Jon protested at a last desperate attempt not to go with the man. His plea was ignored as he felt the back of his head get struck. He fell forward landing inside of something. A slaming door and then motion. Jon lost conciousness at that point. No idea where he was going. Not even knowing if he would survie this christmas as he was taken away by the strange man who had robbed his cash register.
"Carson" the call came in over radio. "report to the movie theather. They just called in a kidnapping"
Rodney sighed. Like he didn't have enough to deal with... the Jackal was a big enough case without this on top of it. But Oh no. They had to overload him with work that was likely to kill him. Picking up the peice he nodded. "Be right there." He said as he turned on his siren and shot off. Knowing his luck the Jackal was conneced to all this and was going to have fun yanking him around as he alway did.
